Red Mountain AVA Park

The Red Mountain AVA is a 4,400-acre federally designated grape growing and wine producing region on the south-facing slope of Red Mountain, located within unincorporated Benton County. The area is bounded by the Yakima River terrace to the west, the ridgeline of Red Mountain on the northeast, and the lowlands bordered by 1-82 on the southeast.

Currently, a conceptual plan is being developed in two phases. Phase 1 focuses on analyzing existing conditions and defining the initial vision for the future of the AVA. The Phase 2 master plan will provide land use, zoning, and design standards that will enable the community to implement the vision. Public input is integral to the process and is on-going. The ultimate purpose of the plan is to refine a vision for the Red Mountain AVA that increases both the visibility and economic opportunities for the wine and visitor industries, while preserving the special qualities of the AVA.
